Andrea is the third daughter of four children.  She is 17 years old.  Her parents don’t have permanent work.  Her father works in the fields but he doesn’t earn enough money to support the family.  Her mother is a housewife and works at home cooking, washing and cleaning the house.  She receives no salary.
Andrea and her younger sister attend school and the two also work to help support the family.  She works at the market in her free time selling vegetables. Andrea speaks two languages. Tzutujil is her primary language and Spanish is her second language.

Andrea would like to study but because of the situation of her family her chances are limited.  She would like to have a profession but without help she will have to give up this dream.  The project would like to help her fulfill her dreams.

Other Goals

Andrea would like to be an accountant and work in a bank in the future.  She likes numbers.  She also likes to be a responsible student, to work hard at school and to study and learn as much as possible.  She will be in the fifth level of secondary school.

Andrea helps her mother to wash dishes, sweep the floor, and do laundry in her spare time. She also enjoys attending a children’s religious group on the weekend.
