| Family Eduardo is the oldest of five children in the family. Their situation is extremely difficult. The mother is responsible for everything because the father is an alcoholic and spends all the money he earns on his drinking. He is abusive to his wife and family. The mother works to maintain the family by making tortillas which she sells to other people. The children also help out by selling the tortillas from house to house. They have a very small house which consists of a kitchen and a bedroom. It is not big enough for the children and they have to sleep on the floor. They also don’t have electricity; the family uses candelas at nights. It is a very difficult life for all of them. Eduardo speaks two languages, Tzutujil is his primary language and Spanish is his second language |

| School
Eduardo will be in the third level of secondary school and his possibilities for continued studying are very limited. He works to help his mother and his brothers and sisters. |

Eduardo would like to study and to participate in sports. He is interested in all the subjects that he studies in school. |
