Samuel is the oldest of six children.  His family situation is very difficult because his mother has been left alone with six children.  The father is an alcoholic and does not give her enough money to support the family. They live in a very small house and most of the children have to sleep on the floor.  They do not have a proper kitchen so the mother has to prepare the meals and they all have to eat in a covered area outdoors.  This family really needs help.  They need a larger house and they need a kitchen because in the rainy weather life is very difficult for them when they have to eat and sleep on the floor. He speak two languages Tzutujil is her primary language and Spanish is his second language

Samuel would like to study but the situation of his mother is very difficult so he has to work a little to help his family.  He also works to support himself in school.  Really the situation is very difficult for this 12-year-old boy.

He wants to study hard at school and he really likes sports.  This year he will be in the third year of primary school.
